Mr. Jackson is a graduate of University of Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the College of Journalism in May 1991. During his tenure as an undergraduate at the University of Florida, Mr. Jackson was awarded various honors, including graduating with leadership honors and being the only student selected for honorable mention as the University of Florida’s outstanding graduating male senior. Mr. Jackson also earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Florida Fredrick G. Levin College of Law in the Spring of 1994. During his law school tenure, Mr. Jackson was a member of recognized law school and university organizations such as Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honorary Fraternity, Umoja Law Journal, and Florida Blue Key (a respected leadership honorary for the University of Florida). Mr. Jackson also has the additional distinction of being recognized during his law school career for his academic performance by earning Dean’s List Honors in the Fall 1992 and the Spring 1994.

Since graduating from law school, Mr. Jackson has had a long and distinguished career in law and public service. Mr. Jackson has been a practicing attorney in good standing since 1994 and has practiced in the South Florida area (Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade Counties) since 2001. He is currently the founder and principal shareholder in the Law Offices of Jacob C. Jackson, P.A. located in Pompano Beach, Florida.

The majority of Mr. Jackson’s legal career has been either serving in the role as an in-house counsel for a corporation, or as a legal counsel for a public entity. Mr. Jackson’s experience is expansive due to his frequent role of acting as a general counsel, region counsel, chief legal counsel, special project counsel or in-counsel for private, public and nonprofit organizations. As a result of acting in the aforementioned in-house legal counsel roles, Mr. Jackson areas of practice is diverse and expansive. In addition to his practical legal experience, Mr. Jackson has hands-on legal management experience as it pertains to the operation, supervision and oversight of a legal department or division, whether it is a one-person legal operation or an entire legal division consisting of 30 plus attorneys.

Throughout his legal career, Mr. Jackson has also served his community by volunteering his expertise and time on a variety of state and local nonprofit commissions, committees, and boards. Some of the boards, commissions, and committees upon which Mr. Jackson has served on include the following: Florida's Commission on Review of Taxpayer Funded Hospital Districts, Governor's Transition Team/Citizen Review Council for the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Commissioner for Broward Health, Board Member for Mount Olive Development Corporation, Inc., and Board Member for I Care About Me, Inc.

Mr. Jackson has earned the respect and recognition of his clients as well as his community for his work and leadership in South Florida areas. Mr. Jackson has been recognized for his work and time in following areas:  

*2011 Department of Children and Families (“DCF”), Circuit 17 (Broward County) Shooting Star Award for Leadership

*2010 David Productivity Award for Labor Relations/Employment (saved Department of Children and Families (“DCF”) an estimated $873,000 in a one year period)

*2010 DCF Southeast Region (Broward and Palm Beach County) Award for Team Work in the area of Contracts

*2009 Davis Productivity Award for Litigation Reduction/Risk Management

*2007 Special Recognition by Broward Health (formerly the North Broward Hospital District) in the area of Procurement and Diversity
